Wild on the Water Bass Fishing Tournament
May 19, 2017This week I have a special treat for all the dog owners. It’s a k-9 treat that even you can eat!! I recently had the opportunity to spend time with Leslie Fhima, the founder and creator of PowerBark (www.powerbark.com) the “meal-on-the go” bar for dogs.
Hunters enjoy the convenience of this on-the-go meal for their dogs, because it makes it simple for them to re-fuel their dogs on the road or while out hunting.
Leslie showed me how to make human grade on-the-go dog treats made out of similar ingredients to her “meal on the go bar”! Nothing says love more than a homemade snack. It’s super easy to make and she uses ingredients found right in your kitchen pantry.
The popularity of my dog treat baking adventure on MN Bound inspired me to revisit the recipe and share it with you. If you want to make your k-9 pal beg and bark for you to bake more, try this recipe:
PowerBark Dog Treat
Makes 8-4 servings
- 2 Large bananas mashed
- 2 1/2 cups of oatmeal
- 1 cup pumpkin Puree
- 3 tbsp. of molasses
- 3 tbsp. honey
- 2 tbsp. canola oil
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 4 scoops egg white powder or 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup powdered milk- optional
Steps
- Preheat oven to 325
- Grease pan lightly with Pam
- Bake 1 hour and turn off oven
- Crack door and allow to cool
When my dog Bacon is on the go, he puts his paw stamp of approval on these biscuits and remember if you also need a pick me up in the field, you can also devour this doggy delight.
